What to know before upgrading the software to version 7.9

Special editions

If you have a special edition of Open2b version 7.8, it will be possible to update while keeping the features of the special edition in use, subject to a technical feasibility check. If it is not possible to maintain a special edition, you can update only by switching to one of the versions on the market.

If you have versions earlier than 7.8, only updates to officially released versions are possible; it will not be possible to keep a special edition.

How to check your Open2b version

You can see your Open2b version in the management panel by clicking the icon at the top right.

App compatibility

If you have a version from 7.0 to 7.8, the apps are compatible. For more details, see the API v13 updates. If you have an earlier version, a compatibility check will be required first.

Compatibility with the current graphic templates

Depending on the version of Open2b you currently have, it may or may not be necessary to convert the template to the new Scriggo® format or install a new template from the Store.

from version 7.1 to version 7.8: your current template will continue to work regularly.
version 7.0:
- if you have a template in the new format Scriggo®, you can update. Some functions still require modifying the template to be used.
- if you use a template in the old format, to update the template must first be converted to the Scriggo® format. If you ask us to do the conversion, you can also ask to integrate the new features. Alternatively, you can first apply one of the 7.0 templates in the Store and, after the update, apply the Store template again, but this time for version 7.4, which already includes the new features.
version 2019 and earlier: you are certainly using a template in the old format. Therefore, you must first update to version 7.0, then convert the template to the Scriggo® format or install a Store template for version 7.0, and only after that can you update to version 7.4.

What to know before upgrading

If you have versions earlier than 7.3, note that after the update search engines will not index pages beyond the second level of filters. For example, they will index a "department/manufacturer" page, which is second level, but not a "department/manufacturer/attribute" page because it is third level. If you want different behavior, such as continuing to index all pages at any level, it must be explicitly requested along with the update request.

Possible actions after upgrading

If you use Return Management and a version earlier than 7.8, you will need to add two entries to the system translations of the graphic template used:

This is a very simple change that you can do manually on your own.

If you intend to use the Chinese language on the site, you must also add the flag image (zh-CN.png) in the flags folder.
