Pages

Pages created and managed in the admin are pages that display content and have a specific address that can be accessed with a browser. Pages created in the admin can be indexed by search engines and can be added by customers to their browser favorites.

For each page you can edit the name, text, an image, and indexing information.

System pages, meaning pages that are not limited to informational content but are part of the software functionality (e.g., home page, checkout, customer registration, etc.), have a predefined HTML page and cannot be deleted.

Some system pages, such as the home page, allow you to customize how products are displayed on the page. For non-system generic pages, you can choose which HTML page should be used to display them, so you can also use different graphics for each one.

Add a page

  1. Go to the Website section.
  2. Go to the Pages subsection.
  3. Click New Page.
  4. Enter a name for the page that will be used internally in the admin.
  5. Select the template HTML page that determines the page appearance.
  6. For each managed language, enter the title, content, and optionally the indexing information.
  7. Upload an image if desired.
  8. Click Add.

Once a page is added you should publish a link to it in one of the site menus or banners so visitors can reach it (see the following paragraphs on menus and banners).

Edit a page's text

  1. Go to the Website section.
  2. Go to the Pages subsection.
  3. Click the page whose text you want to edit.
  4. Edit the fields for each managed language as desired.
  5. Click Save.

Delete one or more pages

  1. Go to the Website section.
  2. Go to the Pages subsection.
  3. Click the checkbox on the right of the pages you want to delete.
  4. Click Delete. A new window will open.
  5. Verify you selected the correct pages and click OK.

After you delete a page you may also need to remove links in the site menus and banners (see the following paragraphs on menus and banners).

Note

System pages implement some software functionality and therefore cannot be deleted; however, you can remove links to these pages from menus and banners so they are no longer reachable from the site.

Add or edit a page image

  1. Go to the Website section.
  2. Go to the Pages subsection.
  3. Click the page whose image you want to edit.
  4. Click Browse. The file selection window will open.
  5. Select the image to add or replace.
  6. Choose how to align the image relative to the page (note: the template used may use absolute positioning, which prevents this option from working).
  7. Click Save.

Remove the image from a page

Note: If you want to replace an image, see the previous point.

  1. Go to the Website section.
  2. Go to the Pages subsection.
  3. Click the page from which you want to remove the image.
  4. Click Delete Image.
