Carts
Cart management lets you monitor carts created by customers in the store, in real time before they become orders or even afterwards if they do not turn into new orders, facilitating possible recovery of the sale.
In the admin under Sales > Carts carts are shown and in particular:
- Status: cart status.
- Cart: cart identifier.
- Last visit date: date when the customer last viewed the cart.
- Customer: first and last name or company name for the billing address of the cart. If empty, the customer proceeded through steps without logging in first.
- Billing: first and last name or company name for the customer's billing address. If empty, the customer has not yet proceeded to checkout.
- Coupon: coupon code entered in the cart.
- Taxable amount: total cart amount excluding VAT, discounts, shipping, and payment costs.
- Total: total cart amount including discounts, shipping, and payment costs but excluding VAT.
- Cart recovery email: shows with an icon, if present, that the cart recovery email has been sent to the customer.
You can filter carts by their status.
Cart lifecycle
A cart is created when a customer on the site adds a product to the cart. A customer's cart on the site is Active for non-logged-in customers and Saved for logged-in customers.
When a customer completes the order, or the quote request, the cart becomes Completed.
Active and Saved carts can be recovered through the cart recovery function, available in the Advanced B2B edition. Once recovered, the cart becomes Recovered.
An Active cart becomes Expired if at least 7 days have passed since the customer last visited it. Once a cart expires it can no longer be recovered and may be anonymized or deleted according to the privacy settings.
In summary, the following are the cart statuses:
- Active: belongs to an unregistered customer.
- Saved: belongs to a registered customer.
- Completed: became an order or a quote request.
- Recovered: became an order through the cart recovery feature.
- Expired: no longer recoverable. It may have been anonymized.
Cart details
By selecting a cart you can access its details. The following information is available:
- Date of the customer's last visit.
- Customer reference, if registered.
- Billing and shipping addresses, if the customer proceeded to checkout.
- Coupon used, if any.
- Products in the cart with their quantities and amounts.
- Selected payment and shipping methods.
- Customer requests indicated during checkout.

Create an order from the cart
- Go to the Sales section.
- Go to the Carts subsection.
- Select the cart from which you want to create the order.
- Click New document.
- Select Order.
- Proceed with creating the order.
Create a quote from a cart
- Go to the Sales section.
- Go to the Carts subsection.
- Select the cart from which you want to create the quote.
- Click New document.
- Select Quote.
- Proceed with creating the quote to send to the customer.
