Create and manage collections

In the admin under Customers > Collections all collections are listed and you can create new ones and manage existing ones.

Collection page

Only additional collections have their own page on the site that lists all products included in it. Therefore, only for additional collections you can manage the texts, images, and product layout of the related site page.

Create a new collection

Create a collection

  1. Go to the Customers section.
  2. Go to the Collections subsection.
  3. Click New Collection.
  4. Select Catalog Collection or Additional Collection depending on the type of collection you want to create.
  5. Enter the collection name for internal use.
  6. Select the manufacturers and/or attribute values that must or must not be part of the collection. Only products with or without the selected manufacturers and/or with or without the selected attribute values will be part of the collection.
  7. Click Add.

Choose which products are part of a collection

  1. Go to the Customers section.
  2. Go to the Collections subsection.
  3. Click the collection you want to choose products for.
  4. Select the manufacturers and/or attribute values that must or must not be part of the collection. Only products with or without the selected manufacturers and/or with or without the selected attribute values will be part of the collection.
  5. Click Save.

Note

Products that are part of a collection update automatically when a new product is created, a product is deleted, or a product's manufacturer or attributes are changed.

Manage the text of an additional collection page

  1. Go to the Customers section.
  2. Go to the Collections subsection.
  3. Click the additional collection you want to manage text and images for.
  4. Click the Texts tab.
  5. Edit the title, the short description shown in the collections summary on the site, and the detailed description shown on the collection page.
  6. Click Save.

Manage the images on an additional collection page

  1. Go to the Customers section.
  2. Go to the Collections subsection.
  3. Click the additional collection you want to manage text and images for.
  4. Click the Images tab.
  5. Change the small and large images as desired.
  6. Click Save.

Manage the template file and product layout of an additional collection

  1. Go to the Customers section.
  2. Go to the Collections subsection.
  3. Click the additional collection for which you want to manage the template file and product layout.
  4. Click the Layout tab.
  5. Choose the template file to use for the collection page on the site and choose the product layout as desired.
  6. Click Save.
