Attributes

Below is a description of how to manage product attributes and views.

Add an attribute to a product

1. Go to the Catalog section.
2. Go to the Products subsection.
3. Click the product to which you want to add the attribute.
4. Select the Attributes tab.
5. Next to Add... select the attribute to add. If the attribute has not been created yet, click New to create it.
6. Next to the attribute, click Add values....
7. Select one or more values to add to the product.
8. Click Save.

Change attribute values for a product

1. Go to the Catalog section.
2. Go to the Products subsection.
3. Click the product for which you want to change attribute values.
4. Select the Attributes tab.
5. Next to the attribute, click any of the current values.
6. Leave selected only the values that should remain.
7. Click Save.

Remove an attribute from a product

1. Go to the Catalog section.
2. Go to the Products subsection.
3. Click the product from which you want to remove an attribute.
4. Select the Attributes tab.
5. Next to the attribute you want to remove, click the  ✖  symbol. If the attribute is part of the product view, you cannot remove it.
6. Click Save.

Attribute views

As described in more detail in the documentation on attributes and views, views allow you to choose which attributes to display on the site for a product page and in which order. Without a view, all product attributes are shown on the site in alphabetical order.

Assign a view to a product

1. Go to the Catalog section.
2. Go to the Products subsection.
3. Click the product to which you want to assign a view.
4. Select the Attributes tab.
5. Under Select a view, choose the view to assign to the product (if the entry is not present, the product already has a view). All product attributes that are part of the view will be moved into the view panel. Product attributes not present in the view will be shown under Other attributes.
6. Click Save.

On the product page, only the product attributes included in the view will be displayed.

Remove a view from a product

1. Go to the Catalog section.
2. Go to the Products subsection.
3. Click the product from which you want to remove the view.
4. Select the Attributes tab.
5. Click the  ✖  symbol next to the view name. A confirmation window opens.
6. Click Remove attributes too if you want to remove not only the view but also the attributes it contains. Click Keep attributes if you want to remove only the view and keep the attributes.
7. Click Save.

On the product page, all product attributes will then be displayed.

Do not display attributes on a product page

To avoid displaying attributes on the product page because they are for internal use or used only for filters, you can create and assign an empty view to the product, i.e., a view with no attributes.

Create an empty view:

1. Go to the Catalog section.
2. Go to the Attributes and Views subsection.
3. Click the Attribute Views tab.
4. Click New view.
5. In the Name field, type for example "Empty".
6. Click Add.

If instead you do not want to display attributes for any product, an alternative is to remove the attribute variables from the product page on the site.
