SKUs
Open2b manages SKUs and variants.
A product can have different variants such as color, size, and dimension. Each variant has two or more options; for example, a color variant can have options like blue, green, and yellow.
The combination of options across variants forms the product SKUs, which are distinct entities of the same product. Usually a SKU corresponds to an actual item in inventory, with its own stock and price.
Each product can have up to three variants, while each variant can have any number of associated options.
If you are already familiar with attributes, you will notice that product variants are simply regular product attributes. However, while other attributes describe characteristics of the product itself, attributes used as variants determine the characteristics that change by SKU.
When you create a product, the first SKU is created automatically, called the primary SKU. You can then add additional SKUs to the product.
All SKUs except the primary one can be deleted. To delete the primary SKU, you must delete the product.
Deleting a product removes all SKUs associated with it.
Assign one or more variants to a product
- Go to the Catalog section.
- Click the product whose variants you want to add or edit.
- Select the SKUs tab.
- In the Variants panel, click Edit variants.
- Select one or more attributes in the corresponding menu. If you want to assign an attribute that does not exist yet as a variant, click New to create it and use it as a product variant.

After assigning one or more variants to a product, you can add new SKUs to the product.

- Search for the product whose SKUs you want to delete.
- Click the product.
- Click the SKUs tab.
- Select the checkbox for the SKU or SKUs you want to delete.
- Click Delete. A confirmation window will open.
- Verify you selected the correct SKU or SKUs and click OK.
